I gave a talk on KRANK in RECOMB 2024. My slides are available here.
In summary:
- This was my first time visiting Boston, and I enjoyed it very much.
- I think the organization was much better last year, in Istanbul.
- Poster sessions are definitely the best place to meet relevant people.
- Being the first speaker early in the morning was unfortunate, many people missed the entire (or a considerable portion) talk.
- I am not quite sure if the concept of RECOMB is effective anymore. People are usually only interested in one or two sessions. I did not attend RECOMB-seq, but it would have been much more productive if I had done so. I could just jump between RECOMB-seq and RECOMB-CG. I believe more emphasis should be put on the satellites, and going even further, maybe RECOMB should only consist of satellites?
- I am also glad that the school administration did not interrupt the encampment using the conference as an excuse (I have no idea if they will shortly).
